It’s clear to me that folks can walk away from God. some people say they were never really saved, of this I am not sure…only GOD knows!

But I’ve seen powerful preachers who were totally biblical and on fire for God fall totally away from God, because of money, fame, and sexual sins.
The old fashioned “fire and brimstone” preachers at least put the FEAR OF GOD, or REVERENCE of WHO GOD IS into mens hearts. By that I mean they preached God is not tolerant of sinful lifestyles and living in continual unrepentant sin equals spiritual death and the righteous wrath of a just God. Now they preach you can live/do whatever you want, on a continual bases, never repentant, and God will forgive you if you “are saved”.

Jesus said “if you love me you will follow me”. This means living as He lived on this earth, submitted to the will of Our Father.

Flesh, fear of man, lusts of this world—all are devils ploy to pull one away from Jesus.

2 Peter chapter 2 teaches that once a man knows the truth and then turns back, ie, walks away from Jesus, he is worse off than if he ever learned the truth… having the knowledge of sin, and recompense thereof, and sinning anyway; purposefully.

I think the real issue is that many “say a prayer” w their mouth, but their heart is elsewhere; they don’t TRULY
repent and feel a conviction to CHANGE to live for Christ. So they think they ARE saved but its only words. Just read that today in Mark 8:27-38. REPENTANCE. True salvation comes with “circumcision of the heart”; Cutting away of the closed off heart to Christs’ Lordship over one’s life. A heart for God, not for oneself/the world.
Matt 7:21-23
I will give you a NEW HEART and put A NEW SPIRIT in you…

Romans 8:1b is key. 8:13

I think HOLY SPIRIT is KEY. If one walks in the spirit, led by The Spirit, Galatians 5:17-25, one will lay down flesh, world, sin, etc. and truly allow oneself to be Led BY GOD.

There are scriptures too that say that God watches over us to keep us. 2 Tim 2:19. Turning away from, or not receiving the conviction of Holy Spirit TO CHANGE is willful disobedience against God, and will in most cases end up in a “spanking from Our Father”…in order to draw one BACK.

God showed me 4 things that are vital to a believer’s walk, growth, and sanctification.

SURRENDER to God
SUBMIT to Christ’s authority
COMMIT to Holy Spirit’s leading
BE WILLING to do what God wants you to do.

We are in the time when preachers preach what itching ears want to hear: wealth. abundance. happiness. health. All these SHOULD be biblically addressed; but also sin, repentance, righteousness, godliness…

I recently had a biblical discussion with a saved believer who thinks someone can take the mark of the beast and still be saved, when scripture clearly states the opposite….

I read her scriptural references Rev 13:14, 14:9-11, regarding the mark of the beast, and she still said, “where there’s life, there’s hope.”. It’s what she’s been taught…
I texted her pastor to let him know what someone in his church believes. I sure pray he addressed it.

There is hope for those who have fallen away; continue to PRAY and ask the Lord Jesus to lead them BACK to HIM. Remember the prodigal son? Pray for God to draw them back to HIM, and BELIEVE that HE WILL!
